Start with an administrative or approved sales job
Conversational AI for healthcare can support routine administrative exchanges and approved product information. Examples include explaining how to arrange a visit or helping a customer find the checkout step for an approved reorder. Define the specific task before selecting channels or connecting records.
The same system should not assume that a product inquiry authorizes clinical advice. Questions about symptoms, medication interactions, diagnosis, prescribing, or treatment suitability belong with qualified professionals. Write the handoff rule into the approved answer process.
Map the information for that task
List what the conversation receives, which systems process it, what gets stored, and who can access it. Include communications, scheduling, AI processing, logs, and any recordings. A general platform label does not show the complete data flow.
Keep patient information out of marketing inquiries and public demos. Use fictional cases when evaluating a vendor publicly. Identify when a real workflow needs a secure channel, recipient verification, or an authorized staff member.
Review agreements against the intended deployment
Where the service acts as a business associate processing protected health information, review and execute the relevant Business Associate Agreement before that processing begins. Confirm the actual parties, services, providers, and responsibilities with your compliance team.
Security reports should identify their scope and covered period. A website badge or an agreement offered in principle does not establish the suitability of every channel and configuration. This guide is a procurement planning aid, not a determination that a deployment meets legal requirements.
Separate recording, transcript storage, and conversation use
Ask about audio recording, saved transcripts, access, retention, deletion, and any permitted reuse. These are distinct questions. Obtain the deployment settings and the relevant provider terms rather than assuming one switch determines every data practice.
Crypture records calls only with client approval, does not save transcripts when recording is disabled, and uses conversations only with client approval. Required participant notices and permissions still apply. Confirm the full provider and retention details before connecting production information.
Test the boundary as carefully as the normal request
An illustrative supplement inquiry can begin with delivery or subscription questions, then shift to a medication interaction. The approved administrative answer should stop at the clinical boundary and route the question appropriately.
Also test unavailable appointments, failed checkout or scheduling actions, requests for a person, and contact opt-outs. Record who owns unresolved work. A system should not imply a confirmed order or visit when the connected platform has not accepted it.
Choose measures that match the job
For product conversations, evaluate verified purchases, refunds, margin, and staff effort. For appointment workflows, separate accepted bookings from attended visits. Review correctly handled clinical handoffs, unresolved exceptions, and the complete operating cost.
Crypture supports voice, SMS, and WhatsApp sales and administrative booking conversations. Use the healthcare notice, security review, and free evaluation scorecard to prepare a scoped demonstration. The deployment agreement defines the actual services and actions your organization can enable.
